Dr. Martens is a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner and a Private Pilot.
Her aim is to aid private and commercial pilots in obtaining and keeping
their medical certificates. She has experience with complex medical issues
and is very familiar with the physicians at the Great Lakes Regional Office
as well as Oklahoma City. These connections are vital to guide your paperwork
through the FAA maze in the least amount of time.

Aviation exams can be scheduled in Wheaton and now at Aurora Municipal Airport.

There are a few things that can make your experience a smooth one. See below.

Fees: Class I, II and III aviation medical exam $125.00
EKG $70.00
Consultation for medical issues: $105.00 per half hour. (This is for those
who may be unsure they can pass an FAA exam or need to gather paperwork in advance
of their exam.
Payment: Cash, check or money order accepted.

If you have any medical issues including a Special Issuance from the FAA,
please obtain any paperwork required before your exam and be sure to bring your last
letter from the FAA.
If you are unsure of what paperwork you need or have new problems since your last exam,
call the office before your exam.

MEDXPRESS
It is now possible to start your application for a medical certificate online.
Doing so will save you time since you don't have to fill out the paper application
and it will also save time for your AME since they will not have to retype your information
into the computer.
It is a good idea for any pilot who does not have any complicated medical issues.
For those with a special issuance or when there is uncertainty about how to answer questions,
the conventional paper application filled out in the office is better.

For the online application go to: https://medxpress.faa.gov/medxpress
Be sure to print out a copy and bring it to your exam.
Make sure you have the confirmation number. It is the only way your AME can access your online application.

TURBOMEDICAL
AOPA also has an online tool, called TurboMedical, which will help you to organize any
paperwork you might need to bring to your appointment. It is part of their member services
and you must be a member of AOPA to use it.
